DAILY MORNING ASSEMBLIES
We are pleased to inform you about our new way of keeping in touch with other friends from other classrooms. Each morning we log onto an online meeting and sing O Canada. We also get to see our friends & former teachers. Here are the daily themes: Motivational Monday, Tuesday Tales, Word of the Day Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Fun Fact Friday. We really enjoy our ritual morning assemblies.
Every last Friday of the month we will be doing shout-outs to students with special themes. We are very proud of your hard work and efforts in respecting others and the rules.
Inclement Weather
Winter is finally here. Here are three ways to know how to get the information for bus/school cancellation.
– NIS Facebook Page
– Remind with Ms. Downing
– WQSB Website
Please do not communicate with staff members. If there is no information out, this means that there is school. Thank you for your comprehension.
Breakfast Club Breakfast is still being served every morning. Students receive a pre-packaged bag of individual portions of breakfast. (Varies between: cereal, bread, granola bars, cheese, yogurt, fruit cups, apple sauce, fruits and more.) Thank you Ms. Natalie and Ms. Franky for preparing the breakfast packages every morning.
SKATES
We are very happy to have the skating rink finally opened. Thank you to the Municipality of Namur for making sure we had access to the rink. Students are allowed to bring in their skates to skate during lunch hour. (See Schedule below) Please remember that students can bring their skates in a sturdy CLOSED bag (No reusable grocery bags). Parents can bring in hockey sticks/pucks. (Students are not allowed to bring their hockey sticks on the bus) Students ARE NOT obligated to skate during lunch. Due to Covid, we have two lunch hours which allows us to have one group per lunch hour. (Two groups at different times per day)

COVID-19 REMINDER
We are very reassured to see how cautious and comprehensive parents are towards the Covid-19 situation. We would like to encourage you to continue being vigilante.
Quick reminder: Please call to provide the reason your child is absent even if it is for an appointment. If your child is sick, you need to describe his/her symptoms. (ex: cough, runny nose but has no fever) Please do not forget to use the Covid-19 Self-Assessment Tool online at:
https://covid19.quebec.ca/surveys/cdd2/introduction
On this website, you also have access to the grid to help you recognize Covid-19 symptoms in your child. Our staff members are not equipped to answer your questions about Covid-19, if you need further assistance, please contact the nurses on the Covid-19 Health Line: 1-877-644-4545.
OUTDOOR GYM CLASSES
Most of the gym classes are taking place outside. (Cross Country Skiing, Skating and/or Snowshoeing) Please send your child with appropriate outdoor clothing. (Winter Jacket, snow pants, hat, scarf, 2 pairs of mittens *one on and the other as a ‘spare’ since they will most likely get wet*) It would be a great idea to also keep an extra pair of socks in their school bag or at school during the winter season. Please label your child’s winter gear as we often find lost hats/mittens. Last but not least, every child should have a change of clothing at school.
